Celebrating 9 Years of Southeast Outdoors Solutions!

This November marks 9 incredible years since Southeast Outdoors Solutions began its new chapter under our leadership, Michael and Karrie Poole. While our family has been blessed to call this business our own since 2016, its roots go much deeper. Originally founded as Playground Solutions in 1989 by Beth and Jerry Hood, the company has always been about creating safe, joyful spaces for families to gather, play, and grow. When Beth and Jerry approached us about taking over the company in early 2016, life was full — we were preparing for a new baby that summer and raising a pre-teen at home — but we felt called to carry on their legacy. And what a journey it has been!

At Southeast Outdoors Solutions, our mission is simple but powerful: to encourage healthy lifestyles at every stage of life and to foster relationships through outdoor experiences. Southern born and raised, our roots run deep. We’re proud to serve schools, churches, neighborhoods, and communities across Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee — helping busy families reconnect with the outdoors through play spaces, parks, and recreation areas.

Over the past nine years, our company has grown in more ways than one. We welcomed Jenna MacQueen to the office, and she has been such a blessing — bringing so much knowledge, organization, and heart to our team. Michael continues to lead our crew in the field, ensuring every project is handled with care and excellence. And together, we share the joy of seeing smiling faces and happy kids at the end of every project — it’s the best reward for what we do.

People often ask us, “How do you balance running a thriving company with raising a family?” The truth is, it’s not always easy — but it’s always worth it. We make it a priority to be at every event our children have, while still making sure the business continues to thrive. And yes, working together has its quirks! Michael and I spend all day talking about the business, but not always about personal things — so in a funny way, you could say we “work together but never talk.”

Through it all, our family-first values remain at the heart of everything we do. We’re so grateful for our loyal customers, our hardworking team, and the communities who trust us to bring play and connection into their lives.
